Traffic calls Ohio 288, Mount Gilead A Lorain man was treated at Galion Community Hospital after an accident Saturday at 10 p.m. According to the highway patrol, injured was John L. Brady, 57, who, along with Vilma Brady, 63, also of Lorain, had parked their semi-tractor-trailer rigs on the berm of the road. Vilma Brady attempted to back his rig but instead put it in drive, striking John Brady, who was standing between the two trucks. John Brady was pushed into the back of his truck, the patrol said.

Police calls Glen's Surplus Sales, Shelby Police arrested three boys inside the store at 14 E. Smiley Ave. as the youths prepared to take a variety of Army surplus items, including flashlights, a survival kit and insignia pins, Sunday about 7:30 p.m. The 12-year-old and two 13-yearolds, who had gotten into the store through a window, were released to the custody of their parents pending filing of breaking-and-entering charges. Fire calls 390 Adario West Road, rural Shiloh Fire destroyed the si house of Larry and Judy Martin today, but no one was injured in the blaze, according to Shiloh firefighters. They were called at 3:42 a.m and found the house in flames when they arrived. No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause was still being investigated this morning. The Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department provided half a dozen men and a tanker truck to help the 22 firefighters of the Shiloh department.

Pond provokes friction at school BARNESVILLE, Ohio (AP) A proposal to remove a freshwater pond behind Barnesville High School so its running track can be extended is causing friction between some teachers and the school's athletic boosters. The pond appears to be in the path of an extension for the track. The boosters asked the board of education for approval to fill in the pond so the space may be used for the track extension. But vocational agriculture and science teachers at the school want to keep the pond because they use it for experiments.
